Learn how to draw.

The animation is good.

But you don't know how to draw, at all.

Take a year off the cartoons.
Get a stack of typing paper and some HB pencils and an eraser.
Get a Burn Hogarth book on anatomy, faces, hands, ect. Get a book on perspective.

Draw for a year.

The comeback and make a cartoon.

Yeah! I'm from Montreal too!

Dude, I love your work.
You fucking rock.
The art and style is 10/10.
I like the slow pans and rotations.

I'm going to start using rotations in my movies now.

The guitar track was cool too, nice and light grunge.

As for getting out of depression:
exercise is great. Stop drining and smoking and drugs.
eat fruit and vegetables.

Or: take your carte Soleil to a Doctor and say "I'm fuking depressed and I need help." they will refer you to a shrink, the shink will give you antidepresents.

Antidepressant can realy shift ones mood.
I took them for a while and they helped alot.

Email me if you want, we can talk about it more.

well thanks for your support:P but I must sa ythat im not a sucidal person...well not anymore...im doing my best to be happy...this movie is most like an message of hope to say that other person can live the same thing and can pass over it..like I did. Thats my message.

Good Job

I realy liked this.
Your animation is good.
With practice it will become better.
Keep at it.

I think the main thing for you at this point is to learn to draw real figures (non-stick) and to apply what you know about animation to that.

Sticks are alright, but there have been 100 000 stick animations on newgrounds.... after a while, they all look alike...(that's why people hate sticks)

So keep working, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Good job

The Blah Blah Blah stuff is horrible.
I don't like violence much.

The jokes where there, and the speed of the story was good.

The blah blah blah was old.

Good job.

Your style of drawing made me laugh and the body postures of the charaters where great, they had a dynamic quality.

I realy liked the boat. I mean I REALY liked it.
It's the kind of boat I would like to draw.
If there was more actual animation, and actual voices it would have been better.

I see that you are Russian, so I say Dasvidania Comrad!

Flash dosn't run on Linux

Flash doesn't run on Linux.
As far as I know... Macromedia only produces software for Mac and Win.

Btw: I ran linux RH for a year... It crashed alot more then my Xppro.

Also: Many of the things you said about the history of Altair Basic and MS-DOS are incorrect.
Get your facts right before you slander, it would have made your movie that much better.
Watching the "Pirates Of Silicon Valley" 10 times doesn't make you an expert on the history of computers.

I run xpp on a P3-600 256mb Ram and it's great.

As for holes in software.... there will always be holes. I'm sure you have done alot of programing and you are fully aware of how complex it can be. No work of art is perfect, no piece of software is perfect.

Wow... best use of Poser software I have seen!

This looks like it was done with Poser,
It's a nice job. The guys who created the Poser software did a great job with that software!

Good job useing their software!

You have ruined the curve my friend.

I would realy like to know the details and methods used in the production of your toon.

Bravo!

Great stuff

Sticks suck, but you managed to make it realy good.

Cheers!

5/5

This will be a clasic.

Good Job

Realy good.
Some of the motion is realy nice. The part where he fell down looked great, the curve of his back and the position of his legs where realy good.
The part where he walked was nice.
Walking is, as you know, one of the hardest things to have look right.
You little guy walked nicely, he had sort of a "cowboy" look to his walk.

The bit where he rubbed his head was nice and moved well.

One note: He should have had a face from the frist frame.

Keep it up, you have talent... I can tell.

Try to flesh them out a bit more on your next few projects.

Cheers!

Bezman responds:

Thank you very much for all the praise, the excellent review and the encouragement. :)

The reason he doesn't have a face at the start is because the animation is supposed to be about stick-men progressing. The first one wasn't connected so it fell apart, the 2nd one didn't have good enough legs, then the 3rd guy bumped into the tree as he didn't have eyes to start off with.

I think a lot of folk didn't realise that though, so maybe I should make it more obvious when I finish it...

I'll definitely do something a bit more fleshed out than just sticks later on.

Stay funky!
